by Amanda Lewis, Student Newswriter

Christian musician, producer and songwriter Ed Cash will perform in the Rising Christian Artists Series at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in the Den of the Bill Daniel Student Center at Baylor University. Baylor talent Brian Douglas also will be performing.
The concert is presented by The Place 2BU and Baptist Student Ministries. The Rising Christian Artists Series brings fresh talent with a Christian message to the Baylor campus. Previous participants include Monday Morning and Dave Barnes.
Beginning as a producer in Nashville, Tenn., Cash took his career to the next level with the release of his first solo album, "With a Smile," in 1994. He has since recorded two other albums, titled "Where Were You?" (1997) and "Stability" (1996). In addition, he has produced albums for a variety of Christian groups and artists through his company, Anchor Productions.
Brian Douglas, a McKinney sophomore, will play before and after Cash, as well as during a brief intermission. His acoustic set has been described as a combination of folk and rock music with a Christian message. Douglas' music has been featured at Baylor's Traditions Café, Common Grounds and the Coffee Haus.
The Place 2BU weekend and special events are free and open to the Baylor and Waco communities. Free refreshments will be served.
