Martin Museum of Art Showcases Work of Lee Edwards

WACO, Texas - Baylor's Martin Museum of Art is showcasing work created by Lee Edwards, a private practice psychologist. His work will be exhibited until Oct. 3.
Edwards is a self-taught artist who started creating his collages in 1990. Edwards followed in the steps of his grandmother, known for her sculptures in Ecuador.
"I've always drawn and doodled, and started painting around 1990 inspired by my grandmother," Edwards said. "Being exposed to her I enjoyed looking at art more."
Martin Museum will display Edwards' art in Gallery One along with Willie Ray Parish's work. The museum will host an "artist talk" with Edwards. It is free and open to the public at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Edwards said that he will talk about his background and the process of art.
Lee Edwards received his doctorate in psychology from the University of Texas and has been a private practice psychologist since 2000. Edwards is represented by the Wally Workman Gallery in Austin, Texas.
