ROTC To Honor Veterans With Flag Vigil Nov. 11

November 10, 2003

Baylor University's Air Force ROTC cadets will hold a 24-hour flag vigil beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the flag pole in front of Pat Neff Hall. The vigil is held annually in conjunction with Veterans Day.
During the flag vigil, teams of four cadets will guard the flag during hour-long shifts. The vigil will end at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
"The vigil is to honor the many veterans who have come before us in service to their country, raise awareness of veterans on campus and give those cadets participating time to think about both these veterans and their own personal commitment to our country," said Lt. Col. Jeff Bowles, commander of Baylor's ROTC detachment.
Baylor's Air Force ROTC unit, now in its 55th year, recently was named the top ROTC program in the Southwest region of the U.S.
