Women's Chorus And Men's Choir Perform Oct. 26

Baylor University will present a semi-annual performance of two of its choral ensembles -- the Women's Chorus and the Men's Choir -- at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, in Jones Concert Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building.
The 68-voice Women's Chorus performs under the direction of John W. McLean Jr., assistant professor of choral activities. The 49-voice Men's Choir (formerly Men's Glee Club) is led by Dr. Randall Bradley, professor of church music.
The Women's Chorus will open the program with "Psalm 150" by David Willcocks, "Lift Thine Eyes unto the Mountains" by Felix Mendelssohn, "The Pelican" and "The Place of the Blest" by Randall Thompson and "Psalm 100" by René Clausen.
The Men's Choir will follow with "I Will Praise Thee, O Lord" by Knut Nystedt, "Gladsome Light" by Sergius Trubachov, "O Come, Let Us Sing unto the Lord" by Emma Lou Diemer and "Shout Glory!" by Byron J. Smith.
For their second set on stage, the Women's Chorus will perform "Widmung" (Dedication) and "Herbstlied" (Autumn Song) by Robert Schumann, "Hotaru Koi" by Ro Ogura and Zoltán Kodály's arrangement of the Hungarian folk tune "See the Gypsies."
The Men's Choir will conclude the program with "Epitaph on John Jayberd of Diss" by Ralph Vaughan Williams, the Michael Richardson setting of "Blow the Candles Out," a traditional Georgian work song called "Odoia-naduri," James Quitman Mulholland's arrangement of "When I Fall in Love" and then the Jonathan Crutchfield arrangement of Stephen Foster's "O Susannah!"
