The Baylor Activities Council will host "Dating Smart: A Sexual Assault Presentation" to educate members of the university community about the dangers and prevention of sexual harassment from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Guest speaker Maggie Lawson will recount her encounter with sexual assault and discuss how attendees can prevent misconduct in dating relationships. Baylor and Waco police officers also will be available to answer audience questions and address sexual harassment from a legal perspective.
Later in the evening, the audience will split in to male and female groups to discuss specific topics. Dub Oliver, dean for student development, will speak to men about Christian dating, and Patricia Saiz, an academic adviser at Baylor, will instruct women in self-defense strategies.
