Kenny Barrron Trio to Hold Concert on Oct. 24

The Kenny Barron Trio will hold a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in the Jones Concert Hall of the Glennis McCrary Music Building on the Baylor Campus.

One of the premier pianists in mainstream jazz, Barron has nine Grammy nominations for his recordings for Verve. He has been named best pianist by the Jazz Journalists Association for the past four years and was as a finalist in the 2001 Jazz Par International Jazz Award. Barron, who has made more than 40 recordings, was named "one of the top jazz pianists in the world" by The Los Angeles Times.

The trio consists of Kenny Barron, on piano, Miriam Sullivan, on bass, and Francisco Mela, on drums.
