Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business will host the fourth annual "Symposium: Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Integrated Supply Chains" on Sept. 18 and Sept. 19. All events discussing the use of RFID in supply chains will take place on the fifth floor of the Cashion Academic Center at the Hankamer School of Business on the Baylor campus.
The evolution of the RFID business applications have demanded a technology for identifying and tracking cargo, which could ultimately increase advancements in supply chain productivity. "RFID is clearly changing the landscape of global supply chains. This symposium, which is sponsored in part by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, brings together top scholars researching its many applications." The symposium throughout the two days will address how RFID protects and utilizes several different security methods, including asset tracking, cashless payment and homeland security among others.
Keynote speakers include, Dr. Daniel Engels, director of Texas Radio Frequency Innovation and Technology Center at the University of Texas at Arlington; George Dyche of Avery Dennison's RFID division and a variety of top scholars will discuss RFID strategies and performance at the event.
