Baylor University's School of Music will showcase its faculty members - with special guest Kurt Kaiser - during an inspiring evening of music and reflection for the Waco and Baylor communities on Sept. 11.

"Faith and Music: A Liturgical Celebration of Music and Reflection" will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in the Paul Powell Chapel at Baylor's George W. Truett Theological Seminary. The concert is open to the public, and admission is free.

"All the performers are Baylor School of Music faculty, who wanted to express their diverse faith through their common gift of music in a free public setting," said Dr. William Worthington, assistant professor of management at Baylor. "It will be an amazing concert set on 9/11 - a day most appropriate to remember 'whose we are.'"

Baylor music faculty who are scheduled to perform include: Soon Cho (mezzo-soprano), Doug Claybrook (piano), Jack Coldiron (baritone), Joyce Jones (organ), Brian Marks (piano), Jana Millar (soprano), Sandor Ostlund (double-bass), Brent Phillips (trombone), Wiff Rudd (trumpet), David and Lelia Sadlier (tenor/piano), Daniel Scott (bass-baritone), Eric Wilson (saxophone), Terry York (author) and Laurel Zeiss (musicologist).

The "Faith and Music" event is sponsored by Baylor's Hankamer School of Business, Institute for Faith and Learning, George W. Truett Theological Seminary and Baylor School of Music.
