Dr. Judy Wright Lott, dean of Baylor University's Louise Herrington School of Nursing, has announced the appointment of Steve Chisolm as the school's director of student services, effective immediately. Chisolm has served at the nursing school for eight years as director of student ministries.
In his new capacity, Chisolm will supervise the student services division of the school, including student ministry, financial aid and non-academic services for both graduates and undergraduates.
"I appreciate the opportunity to work with students at the School of Nursing. The students here are the best anywhere, and it has been rewarding to work with the professional faculty and staff of the nursing school. My desire is that student services will continue to give the students the quality they deserve, and I look forward to serving in this new role," Chisolm said.
Lott said Chisolm is a valuable asset to the school. "The director of student services plays a crucial role in the educational experience of students at the school. Steve has established a relationship of trust and camaraderie with students and has earned the confidence of faculty and staff. I am delighted he has accepted the position."
Chisolm received his bachelor's degree from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Miss., and earned two master's degrees in religious education and marriage and family counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a candidate for the doctor of ministry degree at Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth.
Chisolm will succeed Carey Ann Smith, who retired as assistant dean for student services in May after 38 years at the school of nursing.
