Violist To Perform Lyceum Series April 5

Violinist Paul Coletti will present a Lyceum Series concert at Baylor University at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in Meadows Recital Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building.
Coletti serves as professor of viola and coordinator of chamber music at UCLA. He also has more than 25 recordings, including English Music for Viola, which received awards as the "Best of the Year" and "Thousand Best CDs of All Time" by BBC Music Magazine and "Pick of the Year" by CD Review.
Coletti will be joined on stage by pianist Phillip Bush, who is on the piano and chamber music faculty at the University of Michigan. He has recorded five Epic/Sony CDs with Coletti and the chamber group Typhoon.
This concert will feature music by famed violist/composer Lionel Tertis, Paul Hindemith, Rebecca Clarke, Johann Sebastian Bach and jazz pianist Art Tatum. Also on the program will be two pieces by Coletti, Circus and Blue Tango.
Baylor assistant professor of viola Kathryn Steely also will perform.
The Lyceum Series is funded annually through the generosity of the Meadows Foundation of Dallas.
