Visiting Lecturer to Discuss World Hunger Feb. 9

Dr. Thomas R. DeGregori, professor of economics at the University of Houston, will deliver three lectures on Feb. 9 at the Baylor University campus. DeGregori's visit is sponsored by the University Lecturers Committee and the McBride Center for International Business at Baylor's Hankamer School of Business.

DeGregori's first lecture - "Can we feed the world with organic agriculture?" - will be held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in room 115 of the Mary Gibbs Jones Family and Consumer Sciences Building on the Baylor campus. In between, DeGregori will speak on "How will we feed a world of 9 billion in 2040?" at 12:15 p.m. at Baylor's Baptist Student Ministries.

As a economics professor at Houston, DeGregori specializes in economic development, technology, science in economic change, and African, Asian and Caribbean economic development.
