Student Organization To Host Weekend Of African Culture Nov. 1-2

The African Students Association will host the "Essence of Culture" weekend from
7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 2, in Baylor University's Waco Hall.
The weekend's events will include a dance and poetry competition on Friday, with African food being served, and a fashion show and drama competition scheduled for Saturday. Baylor's chapter is the returning champion and will compete with seven area universities, including University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University and Texas Tech. Admission is free and open to the public.
ASA will host a jazz banquet at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in room of the Cashion Academic Building. The evening will include dinner and entertainment. Tickets are $15 each and $25 for couples and can be purchased at the ASA table in the Bill Daniel Student Center.
