Baylor University's theater department presents its most recent production, "Three Sisters," through Oct. 27 in Theatre 11 of the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center. Francine Lumbard, a graduate student, will direct the play.
Set in late 19th-century Russia, the story depicts the lives of the three daughters of deceased General Prozorov as they search for a happier, more successful future. The three sisters, Olga, Marsha and Irina, find strength and courage to endure the pressures of day-to-day life through perseverance and enormous dreams. These raw emotions are depicted in the three sisters' refrain, "To Moscow!"
Catie Lane (Olga), Beki Van Fleet (Marsha) and Marissa Marchioni (Irina) will play the parts of the hopeful three sisters. Other Baylor students involved in the production include Chris Rogers, Robert Askins, Brandon Nagle, Scot Lahaie, John-Michael Marrs, John Henke, Emily Austin, Miles Kelly, Warren Jones, Ginny O'Quinn, Daniel Loa, Katherine Thorne, Caitlin Tray and Jonathan Walton.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 22-26 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 26-27. Tickets are available for purchase for $10 at the Baylor Theater box office located in Hooper-Shaefer.
