Baylor University's annual Missions Week will be held Oct. 22-26 and will provide students with several opportunities to interact with missionaries from a variety of different missions organizations.

Baylor's Baptist Student Ministries, the sponsor of Missions Week, is bringing 25 missionaries to campus from organizations such as Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, International Mission Board and Wycliffe Bible Translators. These missionaries, along with several self-supporting missionaries, will meet with students and faculty throughout the week.

On Monday, Oct. 23, Missions Week will begin with a prayer breakfast from 7-8 a.m. at the Bobo Baptist Student Center. In addition, a faculty luncheon will be held at noon in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center. Dr. Robbi Frankovich, a strategy coordinator in India for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, will be the featured speaker at the luncheon.

Frankovich received her bachelor's degree in journalism and religion from Baylor, her master's degree in bilingual/bicultural studies from University of Texas at San Antonio, her M.A.R.E. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and her doctor of ministry degree from Baylor's George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Through CBF, she works with the Banjara Gypsies in India.

From noon until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, a global village will be set up at Fountain Mall. Later that afternoon, Frankovich will speak at a leadership lecture series from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in room A207 of the Baylor Science Building. Tuesday's events will conclude with the International Table, an informal dinner with international students from 6-8 p.m. in the Bobo Baptist Student Center.

Wednesday, Oct. 25, will feature a non-profit job fair from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in Cashion 501 that is co-sponsored by Baylor Career Services.

Missions Week will conclude on Thursday, Oct. 26, with Missions in Your Jerusalem from 4-6 p.m. at the Bobo Baptist Student Center. During this event, ministry team leaders and students will visit local hospitals, nursing homes, tutorials and kids' clubs.

Additionally, a missions fair will be held from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, through Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the Bill Daniel Student Center.

"Through conversations with missionaries, it is our hope that Baylor students and faculty will have the opportunity to consider God's call in their own lives and how they can serve God through their own gifts and talents," said Curt Kruschwitz, missions coordinator for Baptist Student Ministries.
