Eldin Villafane To Speak At Chapel Oct. 21

Dr. Eldin Villafane, professor of Christian social ethics at Gordon-Conwell Seminary, will speak to Baylor University students at 10 and 11 a.m. in Chapel Monday, Oct. 21, in Waco Hall. Villafane is the founding director for the Center for Urban Ministerial Education and the executive director of the Contextualized Urban Theological Education Enablement Program.
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York City, Villafane focused his academic discipline of social ethics to address issues impacting urban theological education, urban mission/ministries, Hispanic studies/ministries and Pentecostal studies. In 1992, Villafane was named as one of the nation's 10 most influential Hispanic leaders and scholars by the National Catholic Reporter.
A noted author, Villafane's most recent book is titled, Seek the Peace of the City: Reflections on Urban Ministry.
