A "BUnited" event that focuses on topics of diversity will take place at Chapel at 10 and 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Waco Hall.

OneBU, a chartered student organization dedicated towards opening perspectives, will host the event, said Taryn Ozuna, coordinator for the department for multicultural activities.

Conversations at last semester's Dialogue of Differences II led to the creation of the BUnited event, Ozuna said. Facilitated by Dr. Dub Oliver, vice president for student life and Student Body President Mark Laymon, the Dialogue on April 19, 2006, was a forum to brainstorm ideas to improve Baylor's campus through educational and awareness programs, according to The Baylor Lariat.

"Students came together and wanted to host a welcoming, non-confrontational, educational program on diversity to unite students on campus," Ozuna said.

Daniel "Tiny" Dominguez, youth minister at Iglesia Bautista Getsermani in Fort Worth, is scheduled to speak at Chapel, Ozuna said.
