The inauguration and installation of John Mark Lilley as Baylor University's 13th president will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, in the Ferrell Center. For more information about the inauguration, contact the inauguration office at (254) 710-1437.

Below are important details about inaugural events on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday, April 20

The Inauguration Concert: Several of Baylor University's finest ensembles, vocal soloists and conductors from the School of Music will present an inaugural concert in honor of Dr. John M. Lilley's inauguration at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in Waco Hall. The concert is free and open to the public. Friday, April 21

Book Signing with Jon Meacham: The managing editor of Newsweek, who will deliver the keynote address at Friday's inauguration, will sign copies of his latest book, American Gospel: God, the Founding Fathers and the Making of a Nation, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Baylor Bookstore. Former head football coach Grant Teaff also will sign copies of his latest book, Grant Teaff with the Master Coaches.

Friday classes: Classes will be dismissed at noon on Friday, April 21, to permit faculty, staff and students to attend the ceremony.

Shuttle service for Faculty, Staff and Students: A shuttle service to the Ferrell Center will be available at locations throughout campus.

Inauguration Ceremony: Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. at the Ferrell Center. The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. and should conclude by about 4 p.m.

Reception: Following the ceremony, a reception will be held at Burleson Quadrangle for all faculty, staff, students and guests at the inauguration. In the event of inclement weather, the reception will be moved to the Mayborn Museum, and the shuttle service will take guests to the front door of the museum, then on to parking at Ferrell and East Campus Parking Facility.
