Despite a major road problem that has organizers rerouting the course, Student Foundation's fourth annual Bearathon, a 13.1 mile fundraising race, will still take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 4.
Once the new course is certified, it will be posted at https://www.baylor.edu/student_foundation/index.php?id=20783.
The Bearathon is the organization's largest fundraiser and is open to the public. Money raised will benefit Student Foundation scholarships which are available through application to all Baylor students.

The race will begin and end on University Parks on Baylor's campus after weaving through scenic Cameron Park, and the varying gradients of land in the park make the course a challenging one. Registration for the race is $45, and this year, 350 runners have already signed up. This is a significant increase from approximately 200 runners who participated last year.

Prizes will be given according to division. There is a student division, an 18-39 year old open division, and a 40 years plus open division. Each of the divisions is divided into male and female categories. First place in each category is awarded $300, second place wins $200, and third place wins $100.

Megan Jones, a Tyler senior involved in Student Foundation, is excited about the Bearathon because of the publicity for the organization and the money that will be provided, "The Bearathon is a great opportunity for Student Foundation because everyone can be involved in this fun race, and it benefits scholarships."
