Baylor University's 53rd annual All University Sing, one of the university's oldest and most cherished traditions, will run Feb. 16-18 and 24-25. Each performance begins at 6:30 p.m. in Waco Hall.
A Baylor tradition since 1953, Sing began with an audience of 13 and has grown to five nights of typically sold-out performances. The show has become one of the most popular productions on campus, with more than 1,000 members of 19 student organizations showcasing their musical, theatrical and dancing talent.

Students begin preparing for Sing months in advance and were allowed to start practicing for the competition in early January. Each group will perform an original seven-minute act, taking into account factors such as vocal performance, choreography, set and backdrop design, costumes and theme development.

A national panel of 12 judges, with equal representation from theater, dance and vocal backgrounds, reviews each act. Judges will select the top eight groups based on entertainment value, musical quality, creativity, choreography and theme development. The winners will be announced the last night of performances and the top eight acts will be invited back to Pigskin Review during Homecoming in fall 2006.

People's Choice Awards for the best vocals, backdrop, music selection, costumes, choreography and theme development will be voted on by audience members at www.baylorsing.com. These awards also will be announced after the last performance.

Tickets for All University Sing range in price from $15-20 and are available through the Bill Daniel Student Center ticket office. For more information, contact the office of student activities at 710-4919 or visit www.baylorsing.com.
