Woodruff To Lead New Internet Services Division

Baylor University alumnus Randy Woodruff has been named director of Internet services and will lead a newly formed Internet services division in Information Technology Services that will coordinate all of the University's online activities.
Woodruff, who earned a bachelor's degree from Baylor in 1982, brings 20 years of experience in information technology management to the new position. He most recently served as director of e-business for Veritas DGC, a Houston-based seismic exploration service company.
"We are very pleased to have a person of Randy's experience lead this new division," said Dr. Reagan M. Ramsower, dean of libraries and associate vice president and chief information officer. "As we move forward with the Baylor 2012 vision, it is more important than ever to maintain a consistent, high-quality web presence for the University, whether it be in the areas of academic support or internal and external communications. Randy and the new Internet services group will work with Baylor faculty and staff to accomplish this objective."
Woodruff and his wife, the former Gae Vick, a former Baylor staff member, have a 14-year-old daughter, Lauren. They are members of Williams Trace Baptist Church in Sugar Land. Woodruff currently serves on the Baylor Bear Foundation board of directors.

Two primary groups will comprise the Internet services division: Internet communications and Internet systems.
The Internet communications group, which will be managed by Colin Witt, former director of online communications in the Office of Public Relations, will be responsible for design and style issues and content creation and consulting. Susan Evans, Glenda McClellan and Kathy Weber from ITS, and Adrian Vasek from Public Relations, will serve as account executives and assist Baylor departments with web content development.
The Internet systems group, which will be managed by David Seago, former web systems manager in ITS, will be responsible for software and database development, server support, access and security, and e-commerce solutions. Adrian Irish, Cameo Melichar and Sharon Rogers from ITS will join this group.
Staff members throughout the University who have as their primary responsibilities the maintenance of departmental web sites will serve as liaisons from the Internet services division to ensure consistent application of web policies and guidelines. The departmental liaisons include Jeff Beavers, University Development; Micah Lamb, the Baylor Alumni Association; Sharon Johnson and Pete Coulter, Hankamer School of Business; and Peter Wivagg, Graduate School.
