February 1, 2006

by Amanda Lewis
High school seniors, transfer students and their parents are invited to visit the Baylor University campus Saturday, Feb. 4, for Winter Premiere, sponsored by the office of admissions services and the Baylor Chamber of Commerce.
Baylor's premiere events, which are held every fall, winter and spring, give prospective students and their families an opportunity to explore the Baylor campus; meet current students, professors and staff; and get questions answered about academics, financial aid, student activities and more. Baylor's Spring Premiere is scheduled for April 22.
Saturday morning, from 8:15 to 9 a.m., information packets and a light breakfast will be available at the Ferrell Center, followed by a "Welcome to Baylor" opening session.
From 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., students will be able to pick and choose events, including tours of the campus, residence halls, labs, libraries and the newly-renovated Baylor Bookstore. Other options include a student activities fair featuring representatives from campus organizations; a visit with a Baylor bear mascot; and special interest sessions on admissions, scholarships and financial aid, and study abroad programs. Academic sessions will give prospective students a chance to attend two presentations by Baylor professors in the field of their choice.
Late registration is available through 9 a.m. Saturday at the Ferrell Center. Winter Premiere registration is free and includes a student lunch and T-shirt. Additional lunches and
T-shirts also may be purchased Saturday morning.
