Baylor/Waco Foundation Selects New Officers, Determines Projects For 2002

The Baylor/Waco Foundation, a partnership between Baylor University and the Central Texas community, has selected officers and new board members for 2002 and has chosen its projects for the year.
John Fletcher, owner of Fletcher Communications of Waco and 2001 campaign chair, will serve as president of the foundation. Mark Boyd, president of Bank of America, will serve as 2002 campaign chair, and Jim Hallock, outgoing foundation president and president of Wells Fargo Bank, has been named 2002 project chair.
Newly elected board members include John Mabry Jr. of Dunnam & Dunnam L.L.P., Nannette Wheelis of Rountree Olds Cadillac Mitsubishi, Debbie Keel of SBC Southwestern Bell, Mike Reitmeier of Jaynes, Reitmeier, Boyd & Therrell P.C., Dr. W. Scott Livesay, David "Bubba" Hicks of Compass Bank and Kandace Menning of Richland Mall.
For its 2002 projects, the foundation will fund a permanent state-of-the-art floor for the Ferrell Center, underwrite National Public Radio's Marketplace Morning Report on KWBU-FM and purchase visual enhancements for the Barfield Drawing Room in the Bill Daniel Student Center on campus.
Each year the foundation funds projects that benefit Baylor and improve the quality of life for Central Texans. Past projects include helping purchase land for the state Little League headquarters, funding an acoustic shell for Waco Hall and providing a grant for the design of a website, electronic docents and other improvements for the Armstrong Browning Library.
