The tenth annual Santa's Workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in Russell Gymnasium on the Baylor University campus. This year 800 children have pre-registered to attend. The Baylor department of student activities, Baylor Staff Council and ARAMARK will sponsor the event.
The children, ages 3-5, are chosen from Waco-area low income preschools. The children will be entertained with the help of staff and students from the School of Education and a much anticipated visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus. Students from various athletic teams and the Baylor yell leaders also will be present.
ARAMARK will donate lunch. Each child will receive a gift and a goodie bag, including an apple, an orange, candy, a toothbrush and toothpaste donated by area vendors.
"The main benefit for the staff is to see the children's faces light up when they open their presents," said Rona Stefka, Staff Council coordinator.
