Veterans Day Flag Vigil Scheduled For Nov. 11

November 9, 2001

Baylor University's ROTC Corps of Cadets will sponsor a 24-hour flag vigil in honor of service men and women beginning at noon Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Baylor flag pole in front of Pat Neff Hall. The flag vigil is held annually in conjunction with Veterans Day.
During the flag vigil, teams of cadets will guard the flag during hour-long shifts. The vigil will end at noon Monday. Additionally, cadets will tie yellow ribbons on the memorial light poles throughout campus. The poles originally were erected to honor Baylor students and alumni who lost their lives during World War II.
Baylor's Air Force ROTC unit, now in its 53rd year, currently has more than 130 cadets. The department of aerospace studies is under the command of Lt. Col. Jeffrey B. Bowles.
