Women's Chorus And Men's Glee Club In Concert Oct. 30

The Baylor University Women's Chorus and Men's Glee Club will join forces to present their annual fall concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Jones Concert Hall.
The 64-member Women's Chorus -- conducted by John W. McLean and accompanied by Gloria Mace -- will open their portion of the concert with "O Aula Noblis" by William Mathias, "Kyrie Eleison" by Jim Leininger and "Bright Is the Ring of Words" by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Bach's "Bist du bei mir" and "Psalm 150" by David Willcocks will follow.
The 43-voice Men's Glee Club performs under the direction of Randall Bradley, and they are accompanied by Joseph Daniel. Their first group of selections will consist of Ysaye M. Barnwell's arrangement of "Kum Ba Yah," Craig Courtney's "Praise Him!" Ralph Manuel's "Alleluia," Franz Schubert's "O Be Joyful," the Michael Cox setting of "At the Break of Day" and Lloyd Pfautsch's "Sing Praises."
Following intermission, the Women's Chorus will present "How Firm a Foundation" in an arrangement by Doug Claybrook, senior lecturer in academic studies. They also will sing Edward Elgar's "The Snow," the Leslie Bell arrangement of "Lollytoodum" and George Gershwin's "Clap Yo' Hands."
The Men's Glee Club's second set will include Joseph Martin's "The Awakening," Robert DeCormier's setting of "Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder," the Michael Richardson arrangement of "Blow the Candles Out," Vijay Singh's "Finnan Haddie" and Fenno Heath's setting of "When Johnny Comes Marching Home."
