Mayborn Museum To Host 'Science Magic' Sensational Saturday

The Mayborn Museum Complex will host the November Sensational Saturday - Science Magic - on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Baylor University assistant chemistry professor Darrin Bellert, assisted by Baylor chemistry students, will present a variety of fascinating science magic tricks, including:

? Blowing up Gummi Bears
? H2 balloon trees simulate the Hindenburg disaster
? T-shirts that burst into flames but remain intact
? Colorful explosions in a tribute to Baylor University

Dr. Bellert's shows will be at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and will be held outside at the Mayborn Museum near the parking lot.

A variety of hands-on science experiments will take place inside the museum throughout the day, including optical illusions, magic Gak, the amazing potato-and-straw trick, and TV magic - find yourself in a scene from a movie. Visitors also will be able to make recycled paper. At 12:30 p.m., there will be a special glow-in-the-dark demonstration.

? Seniors 65 and over: $5
? Children 18 months to 12 years: $4
? Mayborn Museum members are free.
