Parents' Weekend To Be Held Sept. 21-22

Baylor University will host its annual Parents Weekend Sept. 21-22. Parents will have opportunities to learn about Baylor by touring the campus, meeting faculty and attending events planned by the Baylor Chamber of Commerce.
The weekend is designed for parents to participate in the "Baylor Experience." Events for this weekend include After Dark, a student talent show; the history of Baylor presented by Robert L. Reid, professor emeritus and master teacher of history; a dessert party in Burleson Quadrangle, where parents and students can enjoy coffee, dessert and entertainment from the Ed Burleson Band; a parent-faculty coffee, a time when parents can meet Baylor professors and administrators in Founders Mall; dinner-on the-grounds, a Baylor family-style meal in the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village with President Robert B. Sloan Jr.; and the Baylor - New Mexico football game at 6 p.m. at Floyd Casey Stadium.
In honor of Parents' Weekend, there also will be an "Old-Fashioned Sunday at the Village" worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village. The worship service features Truett Seminary Dean Paul Powell delivering his sermon "Thee Old Time Religion." During the afternoon, guests can take tours of the Villiage, enjoy a fried chicken picnic lunch on the grounds for $7 per person and enjoy choral performances. There will also be games for children of all ages.
