The Baylor University Vietnamese Students Association (VSA) will celebrate its annual Autumn Moon festival from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in Barfield Drawing Room in the Bill Daniel Student Center.
In traditional Autumn Moon festivals children carry lanterns and sing songs to celebrate the beginning of autumn. The VSA will celebrate with a variety of acts, including a dragon dance, singing acts, cultural dances and a skit.
A six-course dinner will be served which will feature Vietnamese dishes such as fried rice, asparagus crab soup, chicken stir fried with broccoli and carrots, pork sish-ka-bobs, goi (a Vietnamese salad) and che thai lan (a coconut jelly dessert).
The festival provides an opportunity for VSA members and the Baylor community to learn more about Vietnamese culture and heritage.
Tickets are available in the Bill Daniel Student Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $5 for the performance and $10 for dinner and the performance. Tickets also may be purchased at the door for $15.
