Theater Department Presents "A Woman Without A Name"

Baylor University's theater department's latest production, "A Woman Without A Name" written by Romulus Linney, will open Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Building. Michael Nangle, a graduate student in theater arts, will direct the play.
Set at the turn of the 20th century in a small American town, "A Woman Without A Name" tells the story of an uneducated, middle-aged woman and her spirit-challenging journey through tragic life events. The plot parallels the life of Job, and her heroic battles through hardships to discover a life of empowerment.
Linney, an off-Broadway playwright, based this production on his novel Slowly By Thy Hand Unfurled.
Amber Werley, a senior from Stockdale, will portray the role of the woman. Other Baylor students featured include Nick Orand, Sam Henderson, Shawn Wellman, Bonnie Bradford, Elizabeth Davis, Greg MacPherson, Ginny O'Quinn and Erik Archilla.
Performance are scheduled for 7:30 p.m on Oct. 11-12, 13, 15-17, 22-24 , and at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 14. Tickets can be purchased for $8 from the theater box office at Hooper-Schaefer.
