Statement from President Robert Sloan Regarding Death of Malisa Caffey

Baylor President Robert B. Sloan Jr. released the following statement Jan. 20 regarding the tragic hit-and-run accident Jan. 19 near the campus that claimed the life of Wichita, Kan., freshman Malisa Caffey:
"The entire Baylor University community is shocked and saddened by this latest tragedy involving one of our students," said Baylor President Robert B. Sloan Jr. "Last night we mobilized our counselors and pastoral care staff to minister to the students who have been affected by this loss, particularly the residents of Collins Hall and the members of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Kappa Omega Tau. We ask that the Baylor family keep Malisa's loved ones and friends, and indeed all of Baylor's faculty, staff and students, in their prayers as we work through our grief."
