More than 2,800 Baylor University freshmen experienced their first taste of college life on Aug. 15 as they moved into what will be "home" for the next year - Baylor's residence halls.
A volunteer force of more than 400 Baylor students, faculty members and administrators, including Baylor President Robert B. Sloan Jr., were on hand to help members of the Class of 2005 move their belongings into their rooms.
In the days before classes begin, Baylor's incoming freshman class takes part in Welcome Week, a tradition since 1974 that emphasizes the intellectual, social, physical and spiritual aspects of college life. The week also acquaints students with various Baylor traditions.
