Oral History Lecture To Focus On Mexican-American Women's History
One of the nations's leading experts on Mexican-American women's history will deliver the Baylor University Institute for Oral History's 30th Anniversary Lecture at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, in lecture hall 149 of the Lewis Art Building.
Dr. Vicki Ruiz, chair of the department of Chicana/Chicano studies at Arizona State University and author of seven books, including From Out of the Shadows: Mexican Women in Twentieth-Century America, will discuss the pivotal role women played in establishing the Mexican community in the United States during this past century.
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the department of history and the Institute for Oral History and co-sponsored by American Studies, Gender Studies and Latin American Studies.
