Retiring Practice Court Prof To Address Baylor Law Graduates

Professor Louis S. Muldrow Jr., retiring director of Baylor Law School's acclaimed Practice Court program, will give the keynote address at commencement ceremonies Sunday, April 30, for 53 law school graduates.
Muldrow will retire at the end of the spring 2000 quarter. He joined the Baylor law faculty in 1981 and has directed the Practice Court program since 1983. A 1958 Baylor law graduate, he practiced civil trial law in Waco for 23 years.
Earlier this month, Muldrow was honored as Baylor Lawyer of the Year for 2000, an honor given by the Baylor Law Alumni Association and the law school to an outstanding alumnus who has brought honor and distinction to the law school and the legal profession.
The graduation program, scheduled for 3 p.m., will be held in Waco Hall on the Baylor campus. Law Dean Brad Toben will confer juris doctor degrees on the graduates, and the honor of hooding the graduates will go to Professor Gerald R. Powell, who serves as the Abner V. McCall Professor of Evidence, and Professor Brian J. Serr, professor of law. The invocation will be given by Professor David M. Guinn, who serves as the Louise L. Morrison Professor of Constitutional Law and Master Teacher.
Later, a reception for the graduates and their guests will be hosted by the Baylor Law Alumni Association in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
