James Kennedy To Lecture On Ezekiel Feb. 3

Dr. James M. Kennedy, associate professor of religion at Baylor University, will discuss the book of Ezekiel during the department of religion's annual lecture Thursday. Kennedy's speech, "Ezekiel Meets Frankenstein: Prophets, Monsters, and the Task of Reading," will begin at 3:30 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium on the Baylor campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Kennedy received his bachelor's degree from Palm Beach Atlantic College, a master of divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a master of philosophy degree and doctorate from Drew University. He has taught at Baylor since 1986.
He has written scholarly articles for such journals as the Journal of Biblical Literature, the Journal for the Study of the Old Testament and Vetus Testament. He also contributed articles to the Anchor Bible Dictionary.
A member of the Society of Biblical Literature, Kennedy has presented papers at both its regional and national meetings. In 1992, he received the Circle of Achievement Award from Baylor's chapter of Mortar Board.
