Senior Baylor Engineering Students to Present Final Project Friday

As part of their farewell to Baylor University's School of Engineering and Computer Science, senior engineering students will present their final design project to the public at 8 p.m. Friday in the first-floor lobby of the Robert and Louise Rogers Building on the Baylor campus.
This year's project, funded by a $10,000 grant from Raytheon Waco Systems, involved students in the designing, building, testing and evaluating of a machine whereby Raytheon can test the heat insulation value of fuselage walls of their aircraft.
"Baylor students have worked with Raytheon before, so they must like their work to invest in them again," said Dr. Robert Doty, professor of engineering who heads the senior design course.
The program, which Doty said usually receives external funding, started in 1987. This year, seven seniors participated in the project.
