British National Team to Debate Baylor Pair on Foreign Policy Oct. 20

The annual Rufus and Alline Huff Debate on U.S. Foreign Policy will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, in room 510 of the Cashion building on the Baylor University campus.
The two-person British national team will debate against Baylor juniors, Meagan Martin, an accounting major, and Meredith Black, a political science major. Christopher Ruane, a law student at the University of Glasglow, and Simon Milnes, a history student at Oxford University, will debate for the British team.
This year's topic will be "Resolved: This House felt safer during the Cold War," which will explore whether it's better to have two superpower countries or one superpower and several regionally powerful countries. The Baylor team will take the affirmative position.
The debate will last approximately 40 minutes and will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Sponsored by Baylor's department of communication studies and the Glenn R. Capp Debate Forum, the event is free and open to the public.
