October 14, 1999

Baylor University will host Missions Emphasis Week Oct. 17-21, featuring a luncheon and informational seminars to discuss religious ministries around the world.
"The goal is to connect students with missionaries who have the same kind of background," said Brian Mosley, a Baylor senior and co-director of Missions Emphasis Week.
This year approximately 30 missionaries from different countries will speak to students in various disciplines across campus.
"The week is designed to allow students an opportunity to interact with missionaries and for missionaries to encourage students to go into a certain field," said Mosley.
A dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, for students and faculty in the Bobo Baptist Student Center. A mixer for international students, students who have participated in missionary programs, and religion professors will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the Bobo Baptist Student Center.
A fair will offers students a chance to learn more about missions will be set up from
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday in the Bill Daniel Student Center. The fair will feature information on mission opportunities, pictures and artifacts. Missionaries also will be available to speak to students informally.
