Baylor Baseball Program to Hold Five Camps This Summer

WACO, Texas -- Students from throughout Texas and surrounding areas will come to Waco as Baylor University's baseball program hosts baseball camps June 14-18, June 21-25, July 5-9, July 9-11 and July 11-15.
Head coach Steve Smith and high school and college baseball coaches from around the United States will teach the fundamental skills of baseball during the three sessions of the total skills day camps June 14-18, June 21-25 and July 5-9. These camps are open to students ages
7-12 of any level playing ability. The camps will focus solely on baseball skills, including hitting, base running, ground balls and fly balls. The cost is $125.
Smith's pitcher-catcher-hitter specialty camp, July 9-11, is open to students from ages 13 through 1999 high school graduates. Participants may choose the area in which they wish to work. They will then spend each day focusing on every skill and aspect of the area they chose. This particular camp is for students with playing experience and more advanced baseball skills. The cost is $235 for overnight campers and $205 for commuters.
The baseball program will also hold a total skills overnight camp, July 11-15, for students from ages 9 through 1999 high school graduates. This camp will be very much like the day camp, concentrating heavily on the fundamental skills of baseball. Participants will spend the entire week learning and practicing various baseball skills and competing with other students. The cost is $315 for overnight campers and $275 for commuters.
The fee for both overnight camps includes meals and lodging on the Baylor campus, a camp T-shirt and a camp certificate. Commuters will be provided with meals during the day.
