Baylor Women's Basketball Head Coach to Host Basketball Camps

WACO, Texas -- Sonja Hogg, Baylor University women's head basketball coach, will hold the 1999 Sonja Hogg Basketball School June 7-10 (session 1), June 12-17 (session 2) and June 27-July 1 (session 3).
Session 1 will serve as a day camp for first through fifth graders in the mornings and sixth through eighth graders in the afternoons. Sessions 2 and 3 are overnight camps and are open to students in grades 6-12.
These basketball schools will provide students with fundamental skills instruction, contests and a chance to spend time with the Lady Bears. The school's staff is comprised of Hogg, as well as girls' basketball coaches from throughout Texas and the United States.
In addition to learning basketball basics and working out in the Ferrell Center, students also will discuss scholastic achievement, sports nutrition, weight training and drug use and abuse. At the end of the week, each student will receive an evaluation card, and awards will be given during a final ceremony.
The cost is $100 per student for day camp, including a nonrefundable $25 deposit. The cost for sessions 2 and 3 is $295 per person or a $225 commuter fee. Both fees include a $100 nonrefundable deposit. Overnight campers of sessions 2 and 3 will receive meals and lodging in dining halls and dormitories, and commuters will be provided with lunch and dinner.
