Program to Focus on Hand-Held Technology for Teaching Math

The Baylor University mathematics department will host a hands-on short course program for mathematics teachers on learning "How to Use Texas Instruments Hand-Held Technology in Your Classroom." Early registration deadline is May 28.
University, college and high school educators are invited to participate in the course which will be June 28-30 on the Baylor campus.
Participants will learn how to use the TI-83 graphing calculator to enhance the teaching and learning of pre-calculus and calculus. Applications, problem solving, group learning, pedagogy, implementation issues and testing issues will be discussed as part of the course. Dr. Mary Margaret Shoaf, associate professor of mathematics at Baylor, will teach the course with the use of instructional materials developed by the Ohio State University Short Course Program.
