Baylor University's biology department will host the 11th annual Biology Awards Night and the Floyd and Lorene Davidson Lecture at 7 p.m. on April 8 in Room 126 of Sid Richardson Science Building. This year's lecturer is Dr. Owen Lind, professor of biology at Baylor. His topic is titled "Suspended Clay: Its Role in Lakes and Reservoirs" and is suited for a general audience.
Prior to the lecture, the department will recognize students who have received honors, scholarships and research awards in biology. Additional recognition will go toward undergraduate and graduate students who have conducted research projects funded by research grants, and honors students who have completed their honors theses in biology.
The lecture, which was endowed in 1989 by the Davidsons, is open to the public. Family and friends of those receiving recognition are also invited to attend the evening's events.
