New York Art Historian to Lecture April 8

April 1, 1999

Dr. Robert Simon, an art history professor from New York City, will deliver a public lecture at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 8, in room 149 in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center on the Baylor University campus. He has titled his lecture "Improving the Old Masters?"
Simon is an art historian of 16th- and 17th-century paintings and a certified appraiser. He will discuss how old masters, which were created in the 16th-18th centuries, have been changed over the years. He also will discuss the art trade and art appraisals.
"This should be a very attractive lecture for area art collectors," said Dr. Heidi Hornik-Parsons, associate professor of art history.
Simon's lecture is free and open to the public.
