Baylor University's Center for Learning Abilities and Talent Development begins its 1999 Super Saturday classes on Jan. 23 with "Cool Web Sites" and "Cool Web Pages," both opportunities for kids ages 7-12 to discover interesting places on the World Wide Web and also create their own home pages.
"Cool Web Sites" will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Professional Development School at 4225 Pine Ave. "Cool Web Pages" will be held from noon to 2:30 p.m. also at Hillcrest PDS. Mark Benno, technology facilitator at Hillcrest, will serve as instructor for both sessions.
The cost for each session is $20 plus a $5 lab and materials fee. Parental Internet usage permission is also required. Kids who attend both sessions are encouraged to bring a sack lunch and picnic on the campus during the break between classes.
Upcoming Super Saturdays include "Cool Web Sites" and "Cool Web Pages" for young people 12 and older, a behind-the-scenes tour of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, a theater arts day showcasing "Shakespeare's Heroes and Heroines," and the ancient art of mask making.
