A Baylor junior will broadcast 24 hours straight on Baylor University's student-run radio station KWBU 107.1 FM to collect canned goods and clothing for Caritas.
KWBU deejay Jon Carroll took to the air at 3 p.m. Monday and will broadcast at the station's studios in the Castellaw Communications Center on the Baylor campus until Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m.
KWBU will also have remote sites set up around Waco to collect additional donations.
"This is the first time on record in the 32 years of KWBU's existence where a deejay
has been on the air for 24 hours straight," said Michael McGuff, the station's program director and a Houston senior. "We thought we would use the power of the airwaves to do something good for people during this Christmas season."
