Seminar to Discuss Y2K Problem Nov. 10

The technical and legal implications facing businesses because of the Y2K problem will be discussed at the "Year 2000" seminar on Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the Brazos Room of the Waco Convention Center. The seminar, which runs from 1:30-4:30 p.m., is sponsored by Baylor University's Institute for Technology Innovation Management, the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce, BanCompliance Systems, E-Sphere Technologies and Naman, Howell, Smith & Lee.
Seminar topics will include Y2K legal, business and industrial issues, information systems, hardware and software, financial implications and communications. Key presentations will be made by Kerry Haliburton, director of Year 2000 section for Naman, Howell, Smith & Lee; Bill D. Ardis, principal and Y2K specialist for Ernst and Young; Leroy Hampleman, director of information systems for Boeing Aircraft Corporation; Mike Crosby and Dave Cunningham, Dell Computers; Carol Tacas, Texas Instruments/Raytheon; Dr. Bill Carden, BanCompliance Systems; and Timothy Flynn, E-Sphere Technologies. The seminar will be moderated by Dr. Corey Carbonara, professor of communication studies and associate vice president for technology management at Baylor.
