Baylor Alumni Center Dedication Set for Nov. 6

November 4, 1998

by Lori Scott Fogleman

After three years of fundraising, demolition and construction, the Baylor Alumni Association will celebrate its return home to the newly remodeled Hughes-Dillard Alumni Center, 1212 S. University Parks Dr., with a dedication ceremony at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6.
Highlights of the building include the Kronzer Great Hall; the Abner McCall Retired Faculty Reading Room; the Baylor Line office suite dedicated to Waco sportswriter Dave Campbell; a lunch room named for Judge Bill Logue, who has treated the alumni association staff to chocolate cakes and candy through the years; and "The Defender," a new bronze sculpture of a mother bear and her two cubs that symbolizes both the Baylor emphasis on family and the alumni association's role as supporter and "defender" of the university.
For more information on Friday's dedication ceremony, contact Paula Tanner, assistant vice president for marketing and communications, or Dr. Ray Burchette, executive vice president of the Baylor Alumni Association, at (254) 710-1121.
