Baylor’s Mission Week Provides Students with Opportunities for Service and Spiritual Growth

WACO, Texas (Sept. 24, 2021) – More than 35 non-profit organizations will be visiting Baylor’s campus for Missions Week from Monday, Sept. 27 to Friday, Oct. 1.

During Missions Week, Baylor students will have the opportunity to learn about short-term and long-term missions opportunities located both in Waco and globally. Missions Week also educates students on opportunities for personal growth, which in turn will give them the ability to love and serve others.  

“Missions Week supports Baylor's mission of preparing men and women for worldwide leadership and service by connecting students with opportunities to actively serve, nurture their faith and love their neighbor as our Christian faith calls us to do,” said Dominique C. McShan, assistant director for marketing, communications and events with Baylor Missions.

Supported by the Lynn A. and Jacqueline S. Harmon Endowment, students can attend a variety of events throughout the week, including a Go Global Missions Fair, a Love Local Fest and Brunch & Learn at the Bobo Spiritual Life Center on campus.

“Over the years Missions Week has prompted many students to think deeply about their vocation, calling, and activate or strengthen their commitment to serve and love their neighbor. Through Missions Week, Baylor students are better equipped to serve missionally and prompted to serve in Waco and the world,” McShan said.

Students will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from Greater Europe Mission, Avant Ministries, Friends for Life, Talitha Koum Institute and more. Whether looking for opportunities in the Waco community or globally, Baylor students will have a variety of organizations to choose from.
