Seminar to Probe '39 Critical Questions' for Business Families

WACO, Texas -- A seminar focusing on methods for family business survival will be presented by Baylor University's Institute for Family Business and its North Texas Family Business Forum from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at Las Colinas Country Club, Irving.
The half-day workshop, "A Survival Guide for Business Families: 39 Critical Questions That Demand Answers," will be presented by Gerald Le Van, a trust and estates lawyer, former law professor, and corporate counsel with more than 30 years of estate planning experience. He is the founder and managing director of The Le Van Co., a consulting firm, in Black Mountain, N.C.
Doris Sandberg, coordinator of the Institute for Family Business, said Le Van pioneered the team approach to family business issues by combining the talents of a variety of specialists, including executives, entrepreneurs, psychologists, attorneys, accountants and others. "He is much in demand as a speaker and seminar leader, and lectures throughout the country on family business issues."
The May 20 program is part of the 1998 North Texas Family Business Forum workshop series, designed to develop skills and strategies for a healthy family business.
