Best-selling Author And Founder Of Sojourners Magazine To Speak At Baylor Chapel Services

Founder and editor-in-chief of Sojourners magazine and best-selling author Jim Wallis will address Baylor University students during the 10 and 11 a.m. Chapel services Wednesday, Feb. 2 in Waco Hall.
Wallis began Sojourners more than 30 years ago as a magazine that supports justice and peace. The publication began in the early 1970s when several students at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Ill., wanted to express how their faith and convictions related to political issues. The Sojourners office is located in Washington, D.C.
In 1995, Wallis helped to create Call to Renewal, a national network of churches, faith-based organizations and individuals from across the theological and political spectrum that work to overcome poverty in America. Wallis serves as convener and president.
Wallis has authored numerous books including Faith Works and Call to Conversion. His latest book, God's Politics: Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It, has recently been placed in the top five on The New York Times best sellers list.
The Christian leader grew up in the Midwest and attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He now lives in inner-city Washington, D.C., with his wife, Joy, and two sons, Luke and Jack.
