Guest Recital by Sam Houston State Faculty Set for March 26

Six faculty members of the music department at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville will present a guest recital at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Baylor University's Meadows Recital Hall.
One of the guest artists will be clarinetist Tamara Raatz, who graduated from Baylor in 1988 with a bachelor of music education degree. Other performers will be soprano Julianne Best, baritone Robert Best, cellist Peter Kempter, and pianists Phillip Schroeder and Jay Whatley.
Schroeder's own composition, "Movement for Clarinet and Piano," will open the recital. Schroeder will accompany Raatz.
Following intermission, two works from the 1980s will be heard, Martin Mailman's "Four Songs" for soprano and piano and Leslie Bassett's "Time and Beyond" for baritone, clarinet, cello and piano.
